When Jesus says “I Am the Bread of Life” we have to trust in this truth and meditate on how this could be. Without a full surrender to God, we will not receive all the grace He desires to give us.
The Lord will begin to open your eyes in Scripture as you prayerfully meditate on His word. This is what Paul meant when he talked about being transformed by the renewal of our minds [Romans 12:2]. You can know the truth about how God desires you to worship Him. Pray for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding about the Eucharist as you read the Bible. You will begin to see references to the Eucharist in both the Old and New Testaments. God foreshadowed it in the Old Covenant.
Jesus says, "I Am the Bread of Life" so Let's believe Him.
When you come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and you completely surrender yourself to Him, he begins to speak with your heart. You desire to be known and loved, and Jesus thirsts to fill you with his love and to show you that he knows you at the deepest level.
Jesus is truly present to us in the Holy Eucharist. The only way to know the power of His Real Presence is to go there and kneel before Him and pray with humility and an open heart. Jesus longs for His people to know His magnanimous love. Jesus will fill you with grace when you come before Him in adoration, much like the jars of water He turned into wine, the very best wine (John 2:10). Jesus in the Eucharist is the best wine, the true food from Heaven.

Let’s Look at What Jesus Teaches in John 6: 51-59
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”

Jesus is your living Bread, your Light, the only Gate to Heaven, your Guide in dark times, the very One who has the power to Resurrect you and give you Life. He is the only Truth you will ever know and be certain of in this life. And to have all this, you must stay on the Vine.
What is the Vine? It is the Sacramental life of the Christian through the ministry of God’s Church.
This is why when you try to be a Christian without the Eucharist, you have no life in you. You literally lack the Bread of Life that feeds you supernaturally and sustains you. Just having that longing, and seeking to come into full communion will give you grace. If you orient your entire life around the Bread of Life — the new manna from heaven (John 6:58) — Jesus will give you tremendous graces. It all begins with the Eucharist, and when be live a Sacramental life of grace in Jesus, we remain on the vine.
The Seven "I Am" Statements of Jesus
The number ‘seven’ in the Bible represents “fullness” or “completion” – so this means any time you see something said seven times or in seven ways you have to take notice. Jesus is saying that He and He alone completes you and fulfills you. In John’s Gospel, we see it all begins with the Eucharist (Bread of Life) and it is consummated through the Sacramental life of the Church (the True Vine).

How can Jesus fulfill you? Jesus wants you to come before Him in the Eucharist and believe in Him. Jesus is real; He is God. He is physically present in the Holy Eucharist. He is physically present in the world, and we will testify to this here on this website so that you may come to know Him and love Him. He knows all things. Nothing in your life escapes God. No thought, no word, no deed (Psalm 139). He is intimately aware of your intent and knows your heart. When you come before Him in the Eucharist, you will feel His presence.

The Holy Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the communion host that has been consecrated by the priest in Mass. It contains the Source and Origin of all grace, which is Jesus Christ, the Second Divine Person of the Holy Trinity. The Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, that is really, truly, and substantially present. This belief is the oldest Christian teaching about the Eucharist, as was recorded in the ancient Didache of the apostles. The Church teaches that the Eucharist is the source and summit of the faith. It is the food that Jesus Christ promised us.

What is adoration of our Lord? Adoration is loving Jesus in the physical presence of the holy Eucharist. Your heart will begin to change through regular time spent with Jesus Christ in Eucharistic adoration. As you grow closer to the risen Christ through time spent with Him, you will notice yourself overcoming sinful habits you thought you could never stop doing. As you develop a personal relationship with Jesus in Eucharistic adoration you will begin to imitate His virtue in your life.
Grow Your Love of Jesus in the Eucharist
The Holy Eucharist will create in you a clean heart. The devotion to Christ in the Eucharist will draw your soul away from vice and toward virtue through a genuine love and intimacy only found in a committed habit of prayer.
How Can I Learn to Obey God?
How can you learn how to obey the Lord? You must learn how to pray with humility, from your whole heart. You ought to establish consistency and discipline in prayer. Pray always. Live in a state of constant prayer with the Beloved. Speak to Him throughout your day. Develop the habit of asking permission before making important decisions – and have patience.
The Lord is beyond the realm of time. He knows your mistakes before you make them and that you will. And in spite of your wretchedness He loves you. But His love is not enough to assure your salvation. You must do your part to grow in relationship with Him, to turn away from sin and evil, and to become His disciple. Follow His will. If you are in a state of sin and away from the Lord, then make a confession and turn away from your sinful habits.
What if I Am Unable to Receive Jesus right now?
Because Jesus is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in His Glorified Body in the Consecrated Host, you may have to either be catechized and enter into full communion with the Church in order to receive Jesus or you may need to repent through a general confession so that you can once again receive Our Lord in the Eucharist worthily.
When You Cannot Receive Jesus in the Eucharist
If You are Not Catholic
No one is prohibited from visiting Jesus in the Eucharist and praying before His Real Presence. The Lord is present when you see a red candle lit near the Tabernacle by the altar. He can be found in the sanctuary of a Catholic Church or in their Eucharistic adoration chapel nearby. All are welcome to come to Him and kneel in His presence.
If you are unable to physically receive Jesus in the Eucharist right now, and you would like to, then we encourage you to visit Him in adoration, and do it regularly. Begin developing a daily prayer habit and come to Jesus frequently for the grace of conversion. You may also want to inquire about becoming catechized, a process that takes about a year to complete.
No longer practicing your Catholic faith?
God can and will forgive you if you are truly sorry for your sins, make a general confession, and fully intend to stop sinning with the help of God. A valid confession and a commitment to never again commit the sin is all you need for true repentance. If you struggle with feeling remorse for sin you need to ask the Holy Spirit to give you true contrition.
No sin is unforgivable except the lack of desire to repent and do the will of God in your life. Look at Blessed Bartolo Longo as an inspiration. He was a satanic priest who repented and turned from his evil ways and was redeemed by God.
You are loved by God and He desires to reconcile with your soul. It doesn’t matter what you have done. You just need to have a heart willing to repent and stop the sin. To be able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist you must be in full communion with the Church and in a state of sanctifying grace because the Catholic church believes in the Real Presence of Jesus in the communion Host and one cannot receive Jesus unworthily (1 Corinthians 11:23-32).
